As an anticorrosive material, epoxy resin not only has compactness and water resistance

Epoxy resin is a general term for a class of polymers containing two or more epoxy groups in the molecule. It is a polycondensation product of epichlorohydrin and bisphenol A or polyol. Due to the chemical activity of the epoxy group, various compounds containing active hydrogen can be used for ring opening, curing and crosslinking to form a network structure, so it is a thermosetting resin. Bisphenol A epoxy resin not only has a large output, but also has a complete variety. New modified varieties are still increasing and the quality is constantly improving.

As an anticorrosive material, epoxy resin not only has the characteristics of compactness, water resistance, good leakage resistance and high strength, but also has good adhesion, processability at room temperature and simple structure, and the price is moderate. Anti-corrosion projects using this material generally include: resin composite reinforced FRP monolithic surface layer and barrier layer, resin mortar and mortar paved barrier layer, resin cement joints and seam blocks, resin single-sided and composite monolithic panels and Thin layer of clay or mortar, organic glass clay surface, etc.

Choose different types of materials, product functions and application scope of anti-corrosion engineering will be very different. Experts said that epoxy resins commonly used in anti-corrosion engineering can be combined with unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, phenolic resins and furan resins to form composite structures, give full play to their respective advantages, reduce costs, improve product quality and construction . It can also be modified with other resins to form modified resins. Modification methods include physical methods and chemical methods.

Epoxy coal tar is a typical physical modification product of epoxy resin, and its performance is between epoxy resin and coal tar. The secondary resin in the physically modified resin usually accounts for 30-50% of the total; the performance of the product after the chemical modification of the resin has undergone a fundamental change. Vinyl ester resin is a typical epoxy chemically modified resin. In some cases, two or more resin materials with better overall performance can be produced in sequence according to the respective characteristics in different parts of different parts of the project, and significant effects that are difficult to achieve with a single material may be produced.
