How to distinguish between natural stone and artificial stone ?

Mar 06, 2019

How should we distinguish between natural stone and artificial stone? In a broad sense, anything that has texture is called marble; it is called granite with spotting; in a narrow sense, marble refers to stone produced in Dali, Yunnan. In fact, there are not many stones in all parts of the country that come out of Dali. Both can also be distinguished from geological concepts. Granite is a igneous rock, also called acid crystalline plutonic rock. It is a kind of rock scattered widely in igneous rocks. It consists of feldspar, quartz and mica. The rock is hard and dense. Its composition is mainly silica, accounting for about 65 to 75%. The so-called igneous rock is a rock formed by the condensation of lava from open magma or volcanic eruption. The content of silica in igneous rocks, the nature of feldspar and its content determine the nature of the stone. When the content of silica is more than 65%, it belongs to acidic rock. In this rock, when the fundamental stellite such as feldspar, plagioclase and quartz form a crystal, it has a granular structure and is called granite. Marble is the metamorphic rock formed by the high temperature and high pressure of the original rock in the earth's crust. The internal force of the crust promotes the change of the original rock mass, that is, the original structure, structure and composition of the rock. The new rock formed by the qualitative change is called the metamorphic rock.

Marble is mainly composed of calcite, limestone, serpentine and dolomite. Its main component is calcium carbonate, accounting for more than 50%. Since marble generally contains impurities, and calcium carbonate is exposed to carbon dioxide, carbides, and moisture in the atmosphere, it is also easy to weather and dissolve, and the appearance quickly loses its luster. The general nature of marble is softer, which is related to granite. Since the natural stone has fine pores on the outside, it is relatively inferior in terms of stain resistance, and the ordinary processing in the processing plant will stop at its appearance. The natural stone sold on the market today, the local color is artificially disposed, and these stones will show their true appearance after half a year to one year. What is obvious is that the big flowers on the market today are mostly dyed, not the true primary colors. Another thing to note is the reverse mesh. There are two kinds of situations: the stone itself is brittle, it must be added with a grid, such as Spanish beige; cut corners, the thickness of these stones is thinned, the strength is not enough, so the grid is added. . If there is a grid with a darker stone, most of them are the reason.

Artificial stone is made of unsaturated polyester resin as binder, combined with natural marble or inorganic powder such as calcite, dolomite, silica sand, glass powder, etc., and appropriate amount of smoldering agent, color, etc., mixed, cast and vibrated by ingredients. Compacted, extruded, etc. formed by curing. Artificial stone is researched according to the problems in the practice of natural stone. It has made great progress in moisture, acid, alkali, high temperature and patchwork. Of course, man-made things naturally have man-made defects. The natural nature of artificial stone is obviously lacking, and the texture is relatively fake. Therefore, it is often used in cabinets and other places where the application request is high, and in some harsh environments, such as kitchens, restrooms, etc. The central part of the window sill, the sky, etc., which emphasizes the decoration, is used less. Another element that hinders the use of artificial stone is the human element. Since the manufacturing process of artificial stone is very different, the performance and characteristics are not completely different, so the above mentioned advantages must be the performance of the artificial stone you purchased. The artificial stone imported from the market is currently better in performance. For example, the imported marble allows sandpaper to be used to polish the scratches on the surface. The user's own disposal is no longer obvious, and many domestic artificial stones obviously cannot support this practice. If you buy artificial stone, you should take a model to stop the bad experiment, such as pouring soy sauce or oil and stopping the wear test.
