Instructions for use of adsorption resin

Absorbent resin is usually stored in a wet state. The storage temperature is usually 0-40 ℃. When the storage temperature is lower than 0 ℃, clear saturated saline should be added to the packaging bag to soak the resin. If exposed to air, the resin may partially dry and lose water, because most of the adsorbed resin is hydrophobic.

1. Resin storage method


The adsorption resin is usually stored in a wet state. The storage temperature is usually 0-40℃. When the storage temperature is lower than 0℃, clear saturated saline should be added to the packaging bag to soak the resin. If exposed to air, the resin may partially dry and lose water. Since most of the adsorbent resin is hydrophobic, in order to rehydrate the resin, the partially dehydrated adsorbent resin should be placed in methanol or other water-soluble solvents (such as ethanol, acetone ) Fully soaked, after the soak is complete, rinse with water to replace methanol.

Second, resin pretreatment


In the production process of adsorption resins, industrial grade raw materials are generally used, and the products are not further purified. Therefore, a small amount of monomers, porogens and other organic impurities often remain in the resin, so pretreatment must be performed before use.

The pretreatment method of adsorption resin is as follows:


Immerse the new resin to be packed into the column with about twice the volume of methanol or other water-soluble solvents (such as ethanol and acetone) for 2 hours, stirring from time to time to fully swell the resin.


Pack the fully swollen adsorption resin into the column, and at a flow rate of 3-4 times the bed volume per hour, pass 5-8 times methanol or other water-soluble solvents (such as ethanol and acetone) through the resin layer until the effluent is diluted with water Do not mix.


After alcohol treatment, deionized water is passed through the resin layer at a flow rate of 6-8 times the bed volume per hour, and methanol can be used after being replaced
