Styrene, a aromatic hydrocarbon, is listed as a malodorous pollutant in the national standard "discharge standard of odorous pollutants" (GB14554-93), and the standard value of the factory boundary is specified.
According to the "synthetic resin industry pollutant emission standard" GB 31572-2015, from July 1, 2015, new enterprises must implement the prescribed pollution emission limits.The direct emission limit of styrene in water pollution is 0.3mg/L and that of styrene in air pollution is 50mg/m3.
In addition, the national occupational health standard of the People's Republic of China, occupational exposure limit of harmful factors in the workplace, chemical hazardous factors, GBZ2.1-2007, the average allowable concentration of styrene, PC-TWA, 50mg/m cubed, and short time exposure, PC-SETL, 100mg/m cubed, etc.

China's current emission standard for styrene (the average maximum concentration within 8h in the workplace) is no more than 100mg/m cubed.

1. Waste gas treatment
Regenerative thermal oxidation furnace (RTO) incineration
-- treatment process: the waste gas is collected effectively and connected to the company's exhaust pipe network.
The high concentration waste gas is sent to the regenerative thermal oxidation furnace (RTO) for incineration, and is discharged up to standard.
