First, the bubble

In the process of pasting molds, a large number of bubbles are produced on the surface of molds and cavities due to excessive amount of resin, high bubble content in the glue solution, too high viscosity of the resin glue solution, improper selection of reinforcing materials, and uncompacted glass fiber cloth layer, which seriously affect the quality and surface roughness of molds.

At present, it is often used to control the amount of gum, resin gum vacuum defoaming, adding the right amount of diluent, choose glass fiber cloth which is easy to permeate the resin and other measures to reduce the generation of bubbles.


Second, the flow glue

The phenomenon of glue flowing often occurs when the mould is pasted by hand.The main reason for the flow of glue is: (1) resin viscosity is too low;(2) uneven ingredients;Less curing agent.

It is often used to add fillers to improve the viscosity of the resin (such as silica), appropriate adjustment of curing agent dosage and other measures, in order to avoid the phenomenon of glue flow.


Three, layer

Due to insufficient resin and glass cloth layer is not compacted, premature heating or heating temperature is too high, will cause the lamination of the mold.

Therefore, in the paste system, to control enough glue, as far as possible to make the lamination compaction.Try not to heat the resin before the gel, and properly control the heating temperature.


Fourth, crack lines

In the production and use of molds, we often see cracks on the surface of the mold, the main reason for this phenomenon is due to the gelcoat layer is too thick and affected by uneven stripping force.

Therefore, the thickness of mold coating should be strictly controlled.In demoulding, do not knock the mold with hard objects, preferably with compressed air demoulding.

Therefore, at present, rapid prototyping technology is limited to glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) moulds with certain size, high precision and complex shape.For those FRP molds with larger size, lower precision and simpler shape, cement, gypsum, wood and other materials can be used to make the master mold, which can effectively reduce the cost and shorten the construction period.

Therefore, in the molding of FRP mold, we should according to the specific product requirements and production conditions, the use of specific process, and constantly explore new processes, new materials, in order to achieve more ideal practice and production results.
