May 12, 2020
On May 9, as the 12th meltblown cloth production line of Yizheng Chemical Fiber was put into operation, the 16 meltblown cloth production lines urgently deployed by Sinopec during the epidemic were fully completed, plus the 7-ton capacity of the joint venture, Sinopec meltblown cloth daily capacity Reaching 37 tons, with a total annual production capacity of more than 13,500 tons, can help increase production of more than 13.5 billion medical masks.
Meltblown cloth is used for the filter layer of masks and other medical supplies. It has good filterability, barrier property, thermal insulation and adsorption. Since the outbreak, resources for meltblown cloth have been tight. Sinopec actively responded to the call of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to meet the difficulties, open up the industrial chain of polypropylene special materials, melt-blown materials, melt-blown cloths, and masks, and fully serve to combat the overall situation of the epidemic. After investigation, the Sinopec Party Group decided to launch 16 meltblown fabric production lines in Yanshan Petrochemical and Yizheng Chemical Fiber. The two companies acted immediately, and the participating units worked closely together. The construction schedule was reversed and the struggle continued. From February 24th to May 9th, it was fully completed on May 9th. It took only 76 days to build the world's largest production base for meltblown fabrics.
