Anti-corrosion Properties Of Epoxy-cardanol Resin

  Epoxy-cardanol resin is developed and designed using epichlorohydrin, bisphenol A and cardanol.   The improvement of this characteristic shows that the anti-corrosion resin is more durable than the epoxy resin. Therefore, the development resin configuration is applied and its characteristics are compared with the unmodified material epoxy resin. Zinc powder, zinc phosphate, mica iron oxide and generated compounds are used as color pastes together with fillers, preservatives and aromatic polyamine adduct polycinnol. For these two types of paints, similar amounts of color paste and preservatives are applied.


  Measured the physical and physical properties, acid resistance and anti-corrosion properties of the paint. It is found that the epoxy-cardanol resin-based architectural coatings have better corrosion resistance than architectural coatings configured with unmodified epoxy resin. The mica iron oxide-based architectural coatings in epoxy-cardanol resin mainly exhibit stronger characteristics, followed by zinc phosphate-based architectural coatings. The basis is that the resin developed and designed is a stronger binder material for architectural coatings.
