Brief Introduction Of Vinyl Resin

Jun 12, 2020

Vinyl ester resin, also known as vinyl resin, is an addition polymer of epoxy resin and unsaturated monocarboxylic acid containing double bonds. Vinyl resin has the properties of unsaturated polyester and epoxy resin, has good mechanical properties, toughness, heat resistance and adhesion, excellent chemical resistance and easy curing characteristics. The following briefly introduces vinyl resin.

Vinyl resin is a type of modified epoxy resin obtained by the reaction of bisphenol-type or novolac-type epoxy resin and methacrylic acid. It is usually called vinyl resin (VE). It is also called epoxy acrylic resin and is a thermosetting resin. Vinyl resin inherits the excellent characteristics of epoxy resin, and has better curability and moldability. It can be dissolved in styrene and acrylic monomers. Due to the advantages of both epoxy and unsaturated, its application field is constantly expanding. .

The product is produced by the reaction of epoxy resin (such as bisphenol A or tetrabromobisphenol A epoxy resin, epoxy novolac and diepoxy polyoxypropylene, etc.) and unsaturated monocarboxylic acid (such as acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, etc.) Dilute with styrene to get the product. The side hydroxyl groups of the reaction product of epoxy resin and acid can be modified to obtain more varieties of vinyl ester resin.
