Cation Resin Exchange Process Of Boiler Softened Water

Jul 20, 2020

All the processes of different water softening equipment are very close, and there may be some additional processes just because of the different practical processes or the needs of manipulation. Any water softening equipment based on sodium ion exchange is developed on the basis of these five processes (in the meantime, the fully automatic water softening equipment will add the brine reinjection process). There are five processes: operation (sometimes called water production, the same below), backwashing, salt absorption (regeneration), slow flushing (replacement), and fast flushing.

   slow flushing

After the salt water is used to flow through the resin, the process of slowly washing all the salt in the resin with raw water at the same flow rate is called slow washing, because in this washing process, there are still many calcium and magnesium ions on the functional groups by sodium ions. Communication, based on practical experience, this process is the primary process of regeneration, so many people call this process replacement. This process is generally the same as the time of salt absorption, which is about 30 minutes.

   quickly flush

In order to thoroughly flush the remaining salt, the flow rate close to the actual operation should be selected, and the resin should be flushed with raw water. The final effluent of this process should be qualified soft water. Under normal circumstances, the fast flushing process takes 5-15 minutes.

The cation resin exchange process of boiler softened water, the equipment after a period of operation will block a lot of dirt brought by the raw water on the top of the resin. After the dirt is removed, the ion exchange resin can be thoroughly exposed and the regeneration effect can be ensured. . The backwashing process is that water washes in from the bottom of the resin and flows out from the top, so that the dirt blocked by the top can be washed away. This process generally takes about 5-15 minutes.

   suck salt

In the process of injecting salt water into the resin tank, the traditional equipment uses a salt pump to inject the salt water, and the fully automatic equipment uses a dedicated built-in ejector to suck in the salt water (only the inlet water has a certain pressure). In the process of practical operation, the regeneration effect of salt water flowing through the resin at a slower speed is better than that of purely immersing the resin with salt water. Therefore, the softening equipment adopts the method of slowly flowing salt water through the resin for regeneration. This process generally requires 30 About minutes, practice is always affected by the amount of salt used.
