Meltblown fabrics are widely used in medical and industrial masks, thermal insulation materials, filter materials, medical and sanitary materials, oil-absorbing materials, wipers, battery separators, and sound insulation materials. With the emergence of new meltblown materials and the development of spunmelt composite technology, the application fields of meltblown and spunmelt composite nonwoven fabrics have become more extensive.
Meltblown fabrics are widely used in medical and industrial masks, thermal insulation materials, filter materials, medical and hygienic materials, oil-absorbing materials, wipers, battery separators, and sound insulation materials. With the emergence of new meltblown materials and the development of spunmelt composite technology, the application fields of meltblown and spunmelt composite nonwoven fabrics have become more extensive.
From 2015 to 2019, China's meltblown fabric industry is currently in the growth phase, with an average annual output growth rate of about 7.5%, new products, new processes and new raw materials continue to emerge, and downstream applications are constantly expanding. Due to the impact of the slowdown in global and domestic economic growth, the development rate has slowed down and the market has become more rational.
In 2020, before the epidemic, the price of meltblown cloth was less than 20,000 yuan / ton. During the epidemic, the demand for masks soared, the supply of meltblown fabrics was in short supply, the price soared, and the quotation was updated once a day, and even reached 700,000 yuan / ton. Despite such high prices, meltblown fabrics will be sold instantly. Taking the price of one ton of meltblown cloth for 600,000 yuan as an example, it can produce 350,000 N95 masks, plus the depreciation of machines, consumables, etc. The cost of a N95 mask is 3.5 yuan. During the epidemic, the purchase price of the middleman was 6 yuan / piece, the profit of a mask was 2.5 yuan, and the production of a ton of meltblown cloth into a mask could earn more than 800,000 yuan.
At present, the daily supply of melt-blown fabrics of central enterprises has reached 42.5 tons, which has doubled in more than half a month; the central enterprises have cumulatively produced more than 1,500 tons of melt-blown fabrics, which can produce 1.5 billion masks. It is understood that the new 20 production lines of Sinopec and PetroChina will be put into production in April, and the daily production capacity of melt-blown cloth of central enterprises is expected to exceed 70 tons.
According to the data from China Industrial Textile Industry Association, at the end of March and early April, the domestic daily production capacity of melt-blown fabrics reached about 200 tons. Assuming that from May to December, China's daily production capacity of meltblown fabrics is 200 tons, and the daily production from January to April remains unchanged, plus the daily supply of central enterprises, it is expected that China's meltblown fabric production will reach 67,600 in 2020 Ton.
Overall, the application area of meltblown fabrics is very broad, but at present, the country has not yet formed product-related technical standards for such materials, resulting in uneven quality of related products on the market and relatively chaotic market order. The imperfection of industry technical standards has adversely affected product quality control and the maintenance of the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises.
