Fiber Impregnation Quality Of Unsaturated Polyester Resin

    The profile obtained by line scan analysis of the XPS tapered surface shows clearly defined impregnation areas. The depth of this region has been characterized using two chemical composition peaks. Based on COH/CO, the immersion depth of these two peaks is about 20 to 40 μmC, a component that is completely complementary to the β-shifted carbon signal and is used as the unsaturated Analogue of polyester.


    In order to supplement the results obtained by surface analysis, the mechanical and tribological properties of composite materials and pure unsaturated polyester resin were also compared. The comparison shows that the reinforced unsaturated polyester resin has better stiffness, tensile strength at break and wear resistance.
